Winifred Goldring: Unearthing the World's First Forest

Like all scientists, Winifred Goldring (1888-1971) was well known for several projects and publications.  None reached such a wide audience, however, as her work on the "seed fern" fossils from Gilboa, New York.  Using the Gilboa project as a starting point, this exhibit explores Goldring's work from the field to the exhibit hall to discover what paleontology was like in the 1920s, especially for a woman.
